Thrush Thrush, a yeast called Candida Albican normally lives harmlessly on the skin, mouth, gut and the vagina without causing any problems. Candida Albican is kept in check by friendly bacteria that occur naturally in the human body. Occasionally yeast increases rapidly, causing clinical thrush or candidosis. Vaginal thrush affects many women but it is not seen as a serious condition. Thrush can be passed on very easily, and can be caught from having sex with a partner who has candidosis. Symptoms

Treatment for thrush is quite simple. Women may be given pessories and also a cream. Occasionally pills are given instead. Men are given cream and/or pills. To reduce occurrences of Thrush do not use perfumed soaps, vaginal deodorants or douches, change tampons frequently and wear cotton underwear with loose fitting clothes. |
