Chat Room Survival Guide Stepping into our chat rooms for the first time can be a little daunting. Through experience we have listed a few tips and some abbreviations to help you get into our chat room banter quickly and smoothly. Private Messaging If you are a female or a couple the chances are you will be Private Messaged (PM) within seconds. Don’t be alarmed. A new window will pop up in front of the main chat room. Simply type in the box ‘Please ask to PM’ and close it down. It is very rude to PM uninvited. You may be in the middle of a conversation typing a long message only to look up and see all your hard work has been typed into an uninvited PM box. If you are inundated with PM’s you have the facility to reject all of them. Go to ‘options’ at the bottom of the user menu, tick the box saying ‘Reject Private Chat’ then click ‘apply’. To return to the users just click on ‘users’. To Private Message other swingers ask to PM first then once you have permission click on the profile name of the swingers you want to PM then click on the first icon in the row of 3 at the top of the user menu. Whispering To whisper another swinger type your message then click on their swinger profile name then send. Be very careful as the list will jump each time another swinger enters or leaves the chat room and your whisper may go to the wrong swinger. Profiles To view a profile click on the swingers profile name then click on the middle icon next to the PM icon. To block somebody click on his or her swinger profile name then click the third icon. User Menu To view users alphabetically click on ‘users’. This will list numerical then alphabetical with capital letters first. Click again to reverse the list and click a third time to list users in the order they logged into chat. Etiquette Be friendly in the chat room. Try to say hello to everyone who says hello to you. Don’t get annoyed with people and under no circumstances abuse other members. This will result in you being kicked out of the room and banned if you persist. Never put personal details in the chat room. For safety reasons if you want to pass your details on give them in a PM or mail them. Remember, the swinging community accepts that No means No and warrants no explanation. If you are told no accept it. If you say no to another swinger they should do the same. Chat Monitor In the unlikely event that you receive abuse from another swinger ask if there is a Chat Monitor (CM) in the room. They cannot always been seen and are often hidden. Report the offender to the CM. If there is no CM in the chat room you will notice a clipboard icon underneath the main chat area next to the audio menu. Click on this icon and another screen will open with the transcript. Highlight the transcript and right click your mouse. Scroll down to copy then paste the transcript into a word document. Go to the offending persons profile and in the top right there is a facility to report the profile. Click on this and follow the prompts attaching the transcript as evidence. The chat room is there for all to enjoy and can be the best place to meet swingers. Be yourself, be happy and be lucky! Abbreviations
